We’ve put together an activity booklet for you and your family to work through together and achieve a National qualification called Arts Award Discover, awarded via Trinity examinations board. This is a free downloadable resource.
Arts Award is a National scheme with a range of qualifications that supports anyone aged up to 25 grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts. We hope, by completing this trail and activity booklet, you will connect with your local community, find out about local Artists and see wonderful art in your town to make you proud to live Luton.
We’re also thinking about the exceptional times we are living in right now. We suggest that you use your one form of exercise a day to take a walk around The Hat District following the map provided and we hope seeing the range of art on display will help your well being too. As part of completing the booklet you are encouraged to head to the Hat District in the town centre and see real art in the public spaces there. However, we ask that you adhere to the government advice and stay 2 metres away from anyone from outside of your household. For more guidance please visit the UK government website www.gov.uk/coronovirus.
There are two booklets to choose from, one looking at Beacon, by Mark Titchner and another looking at Hat Pin, by Tom Pearman. Both public art pieces can be found in the Hat District near the Hat Factory.
There is an option to purchase an official certificate from the examinations board, Trinity. We ask for a contribution of £4 towards the cost, please follow this link to make the purchase and the certificate will be sent you. Please ensure your contact details are entered correctly.
