The Commercial and Operations team are currently seeking some additions to the team.

You will need to assist the teams in our museums, arts centre and creative spaces to ensure that the cafés and events are operated efficiently and effectively, that all areas are clean, safe, and presentable and that a consistently high standard of catering is delivered.

The successful applicant will play an important role in providing high quality refreshments to our general visitors, staff and corporate clients. You will be responsible for the delivery of excellent customer care at all times and ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction.

About the job

The operations team are currently seeking some additions to the team.

You will need to assist the teams by providing casual support work in Culture Trust venues, including our creative spaces, museums and arts venues, providing assistance to visiting customers and at events, by undertaking a range of duties, ensuring a high quality of customer service and contributing to the continuous improvement of the Trust. 

With experience of dealing with the public, you will be able to work in a team and be capable of supervising public areas and events.  You will be required to carry out a range of administrative tasks, sale of refreshments and retail goods, setting up equipment and using various IT packages.

We require casual team members who are available to work various shifts during weekdays, evenings or weekends at various venues around Luton.

Do you have experience in a customer facing role, including excellent communication skills and able to deal politely and positively with a wide range of people and answering enquiries? If yes, we want to hear from you.

We have an exciting role where you will provide a vibrant and high quality customer service by undertaking a wide range of duties in a proactive, friendly and positive manner. Provide information and support to users and ensure all Trust venues are safe, secure and well presented.

In this vital role, you’ll undertake financial procedures including operating a till and banking procedures in accordance with the Trust’s financial regulations. You’ll also undertake clerical procedures including inputting data to maintain accurate records, taking into account Data Protection legislation.

 

This opportunity will be based across our museums and art centre sites on a variable shift rota and will include weekends.

 

 

About You:

 

This is a public facing role so you’ll need to demonstrate your fluency in spoken and written English.

 

So if you have good customer service skills, as well as good ICT skills, with the ability to manage emails, use the internet and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages and able to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment; we look forward to receiving your application.

Salary £37, 938 (Pro Rata) Fixed term for 16 months – January 2025 – April 2026

We are delighted to introduce this job opportunity at the Culture Trust Luton for a 0.5 Project Manager. Through a successful funding application to The National Lottery Heritage Fund, we have been awarded £177,513 funding to deliver a Resilience project called ‘Reconnect’. This multi-faceted project explores the Trust’s customer services, sites and operations. There is also funding to deliver events and consultations as well as creative activities to promote engagement and volunteering. The Project also has a budget for making operational improvements that have been identified through the project.

We seek an experienced Project Manager to draw together the delivery of this project, coordinate specialist consultants, creatives and community groups and work with the Culture Trust Team on exploring and embedding change.

We are a progressive, Luton-based, arts and cultural charity with a mission to connect communities through culture and creativity. We welcome 250,000 people across the year to our stunning heritage sites; the Hat Factory Arts Centre, Hat District creative workspaces, Wardown House Museum and Gallery, and Stockwood Discovery Centre. The Reconnect Project will work across all our functions, but there will be a particular focus on Stockwood Discovery Centre for community activities and volunteering.
