A Seat At The Table Exhibition
A project by Priya Ramkissoon / Imiloa Collective, in partnership with Women’s Aid Luton, featuring creative collaborator Ragavee Balendran and participants from Women’s Aid Luton. Made possible through the generous support of Arts Council England, Luton Rising, UK Government, Luton Arts, and managed by Bedfordshire & Luton Community Foundation.
More than a showcase, "A Seat at the Table" reflects a journey of personal growth, learning and creative development. Through a series of workshops exploring traditional block printing, sustainable making, textile craft and introductory entrepreneurship training, our participants developed practical creative skills, greater confidence and meaningful handmade works.
The final exhibition reimagines the dining table as a symbol of belonging, progress and possibility — beautifully dressed with block-printed and handcrafted items created by the women involved in the programme. Each piece tells a story of knowledge gained, confidence built and the transformative power of creativity.
This exhibition celebrates not only what has been made, but also the resilience, talent and future opportunities shaped along the way.
