South Asian Woodblock Workshop

Join Factory Associate, Ragavee Balendran, to celebrate traditional South Asian art in this hands-on Woodblock Printing Workshop, where creativity meets culture!

Participants will explore the rich artistic heritage of South Asia through the use of authentic Indian woodblocks, carved with timeless motifs. All participants will design and carve their own lino-cut motifs, creating a personalised stamp.

In addition to block printing, participants will get the opportunity to design and carve their own lino-cut motifs, creating a personalised stamp to use during the workshop and take home for future projects. This added component allows for deeper artistic expression and a fuller understanding of the printmaking process from design to execution.

All materials are provided, and each participant will leave with their own hand-printed scarf and a deep appreciation of South Asian art and printmaking."

This workshop is part of the Luton Matters Programme and is funded by The Steel Charitable Trust.
