About the job

The operations team are currently seeking some additions to the team.

You will need to assist the teams by providing casual support work in Culture Trust venues, including our creative spaces, museums and arts venues, providing assistance to visiting customers and at events, by undertaking a range of duties, ensuring a high quality of customer service and contributing to the continuous improvement of the Trust. 

With experience of dealing with the public, you will be able to work in a team and be capable of supervising public areas and events.  You will be required to carry out a range of administrative tasks, sale of refreshments and retail goods, setting up equipment and using various IT packages.

We require casual team members who are available to work various shifts during weekdays, evenings or weekends at various venues around Luton.

About the job

The Commercial and Operations team are currently seeking some additions to the team.

You will need to assist the teams in our museums, arts centre and creative spaces to ensure that the cafés and events are operated efficiently and effectively, that all areas are clean, safe, and presentable and that a consistently high standard of catering is delivered.

The successful applicant will play an important role in providing high quality refreshments to our general visitors, staff and corporate clients. You will be responsible for the delivery of excellent customer care at all times and ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction.

Creative Industries Trainee. Closing Date: 21st April 2024

Creative Industries Trainee

£22,737 pro rata

Fixed term to December 2024

30 hours per week (various weekday shifts including occasional evenings and weekends)

About the Job:

Are you aspiring to work in the creative sector, but need an entry point and experience? If yes, we want to hear from you.

Through a "learn on the job model", in this role you'll gain exposure to diverse cultural activities offered by the Culture Trust. As a Trainee, you'll support wrap-around and enrichment activities aimed at expanding family and schools audiences. Your journey with us will span from April 2024 to December 2024, engaging in a diverse range of programmes and events, from theatre camps to school holiday activities, supporting our Education, Marketing, and Museums teams.

 

About you:

This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show a fluency in speaking and writing English.

You will be required to work across Culture Trust sites when necessary to meet business requirements.  So, if you have basic clerical and computer skills, good communication skills and enjoy working with a wide range of people in a customer orientated service, and you want to gain valuable experience in the creative sector, then this role could be for you.

Our cultural Trust operate an exciting portfolio of Museums, Heritage sites and Arts venues in Luton from which we develop and deliver year-round programmes of arts, exhibitions, workshops, cultural events and activities. We also support and enable artists, creative industry entrepreneurs and community groups who use and operate from our inspiring heritage venues. The post holder will lead on all financial and resource functions for the Culture Trust Charity and Trading Company managing a dedicated finance, HR and Admin team and contributing as a to the Trust’s strategic leadership team.

Luton Matters: Public Art Commission

Luton Matters Public Art Commission

Fee: Up to £20,000 inclusive of install and fabrication

About the Commission:

The Culture Trust is seeking applications for a Lead Artist to create a series of works within a new Public Engagement Programme as part of the Luton Matters Project. The commission will celebrate Black Culture through the lens of Global Fashion, taking place across 2024/25.
