Join author and director Amanda Epe and guest Eddy Smythe, as they delve into this drama-documentary showcasing the remarkable story of Johnny Smythe, a Sierra Leone, West African RAF hero, from recruitment to front line service and his experiences of combat flying as the navigator of a Stirling Bomber.

In June 1948, Flight Lieutenant Smythe was the Welfare Officer on board the Empire Windrush, and the film explores the crucial role he played in shaping modern Britain. The drama also highlights other notable RAF personnel Sam King and Baron Baker's contribution to the Windrush legacy.
