Music In The Museum: Duo Napolitano
Nigel Woodhouse has played in a diverse range of ensembles from Medieval Folk to Prog Rock, Jazz and Tango. Unusually for his chosen instruments much of his work has been in various orchestral settings. He has taken part in many concerts with the UK's leading orchestras, including
numerous appearances at the BBC Proms, as well as recordings and international tours. He has also played many onstage parts in the worlds of opera, ballet and theatre, and he is often invited to play at The Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
Forbes Henderson was one of the original members of The Omega Guitar Quartet. He has also performed and recorded with a number of chamber ensembles including The Nash Ensemble and The Hilliard Ensemble. He was one of the founder members of the South American folk group Incantation, in which he also played the Tiple and Charango as well as the guitar. He has also performed and recorded with all the London orchestras, and like Nigel, he is regularly invited to play at The Royal Opera House.
In recent years Forbes and Nigel have toured with The Royal Ballet, playing guitars onstage in Shanghai, Washington, Chicago, Tokyo and Yokohama.
Duo Napolitano will present a programme of music from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, including works by Vivaldi, Handel, Scarlatti, Scheidler, Villa-Lobos and the Italian mandolin virtuoso Raffaele Calace.
