Internationally acclaimed harpist Elizabeth Green returns to Wardown House on December 8th, much to the delight of her devoted fans and eager anticipation of new audiences. This year, Elizabeth's uniquely engaging harp recital will embrace the spirit of the season, offering a magical blend of classical masterpieces and beloved Christmas melodies that promise a truly unforgettable holiday experience.

Biography

Elizabeth Green

Elizabeth Green attended the Purcell School of Music for seven years as a scholar before gaining her Bachelor and Master’s degrees at The Royal Academy of Music, London where she studied in Skaila Kanga’s department with Daphne Boden and  Karen Vaughan.  After leaving the Academy Elizabeth travelled to Chicago to further her orchestral studies with Sarah Bullen.

As an orchestral harpist, Elizabeth has worked with orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra,  BBC Concert Orchestra, English National Opera, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Royal Ballet Sinfonia, National Symphony Orchestra, London Mozart Players, London Philharmonic, The Royal Shakespeare Company, London Concert Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Mariinsky Ballet, National Symphony Orchestra of Russia, London Chamber Orchestra and the Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra.  Elizabeth has also made regular appearances in the orchestras of West End productions such as ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘Aspects of Love’.

From 2013 to 2018 Elizabeth was a member of the harp quartet 4Girls4Harps.  Their 2013 Christmas CD received much attention in the press gaining glowing reviews on radio and in national newspapers.  They have performed live on BBC Radio 3 ‘In Tune’ twice since, as well as a live appearance on Women’s Hour.

Another of Elizabeth’s interest is outreach work, both within the orchestra and as a soloist, delivering workshops for schools and charities and introducing the harp to a new generation of musicians.  She has travelled as far as Bosnia to work as a music educator and also plays for the charity Breathe who provide music at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals.
