Hollywood comes to Luton: John Stevenson

An extraordinary opportunity to discover more about the blockbuster film industry! Producer John Stevenson (Shrek, Kung Fu Panda) joins us live-streamed from Hollywood.

The evening will be presented in person by TV and radio presenter Andrew Eborn, who will be talking to John Stevenson about his experience in the film industry, including worldwide blockbusters Shrek, Shrek 2, Kung Fu Panda and film classics The Muppets and The Dark Crystal.

This interactive experience is an ideal opportunity for film buffs, trainee producers and anyone interested in film to gain insightful industry knowledge, and to get inspiration for their future careers and professional development. It’s also a great experience for film geeks and anyone who just loves film and wants to know more about the behind-the-scenes work and delve into the world of Hollywood!

About the creatives

John Stevenson - Guest

John Stevenson has over four decades of experience in TV and film production starting at the Henson Company on projects such as the Muppets and The Dark Crystal.

Stevenson directed “Kung Fu Panda” with Mark Osborne, which grossed over $600 million worldwide and spawned two sequels.  

In 2009 Stevenson was nominated for an Academy Award with Mark Osborne, and both won the Annie for best direction of an animated feature.  Prior to the release of “Kung Fu Panda”, Stevenson held the post of Head of Story at PDI/DreamWorks serving as story artist for the worldwide blockbusters “Shrek”, “Shrek 2” and “Madagascar.”  A core member of PDI/DreamWorks’ creative review committee, Stevenson had input on a variety of projects and additionally has worked as a storyboard artist and character designer for DreamWorks/PDI’s “Antz,” Pixar’s “Toy Story 2”. Most recently Stevenson directed “Sherlock Gnomes” for Paramount and MGM, a sequel to the 2011 hit “Gnomeo and Juliet”. John is currently developing an animated feature with Matt Wilson (Monsterpocalypse) and Kinetic Media as well as an animated series with Axis Studios. 

Andrew Eborn - Host

Andrew Eborn has a background as a renowned international media lawyer. Andrew is a TV and Radio presenter with extensive experience as an event host both in the UK and internationally.   

John Gough - Producer

John Gough is an entertainment television format specialist. John has executive produced for the BBC, ITV, and Channel 5. Internationally John has executive produced and acted as a flying producer on his own formats for broadcasters in 25 countries worldwide.

Through his company MASTER CLASS CAMBRIDGE John draws upon his experience and high-level TV industry UK and international contacts to assist in the creation and development of entertainment TV formats for a range of clients.

John also produces bespoke entertainment and business-based events that showcase renowned off-screen talent. A focus upon the executives and industry practitioners behind the camera with an emphasis upon understanding and learning about the best practices in the creative industries.
