Adorned: Ghanaian Headwear & Heritage

Curate a Case: Adorned: Ghanaian Headwear and Heritage

A celebration of Ghanaian culture curated by the community, In partnership with the Ghana Society and The Style Mavin.

This exhibition shines a light on the beauty, meaning and artistry woven into Ghana’s traditions.

At its heart are headwear pieces—crowns, wraps, and adornments that carry stories of identity, status, and belonging. These objects are more than decoration; they are expressions of heritage and powerful symbols passed through generations.

Alongside headwear, you will see traditional artefacts, royal ceremonial objects, and intricate silk thread headwear that showcase Ghana’s traditional creativity. Vibrant kente cloth, rich in colour and symbolism, which transforms the space into a feast for the eyes, while soundscapes and visual displays invite you to step deeper into Ghanaian life.

Adorned: Ghanaian Headwear & Heritage honours the community voices that have brought these stories alive. It is an immersion into Ghana’s cultural wealth—an invitation to learn, reflect, and celebrate together.
