Diwali: micro-display

Diwali, Deepavali or Divali is celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and Newar Buddhists. The five-day celebration is observed every year and coincides with the new moon (Amavasya) and is deemed a new beginning, with light over darkness and good triumphing over evil.

We have a small display in our Drawing Room of some exquisite clothing worn during traditional Diwali celebrations. You can pop in and see these until 10 Nov, free entry to the Museum Mon-Weds 11am - 5pm.
