Eat, Drink and Create every first Thursday of the month at Hat District Lates!

Join us for a programme of free and ticketed events across the Hat District. You can expect live music, arts and street food & drink from 5pm – 9pm as part of our new regular creative social - Hat District Lates.

 

  • Soul Food Poetry
    Back by popular demand, Soul Food Poetry have put together an eclectic mix of DJs and musicians to host the event, and share their good vibes and big energy inside The Hat Factory. Catch them at Hat District Lates as our resident band and host.
     
  • Comedy Bar Head to Head at The Hat Factory
    Our latest regular comedy night with the circuit’s newest up and coming acts, hosted by Jake Pickford. What makes a good comedian? You decide! Be sure to check back here for the line up.
     
  • An Inherited Heritage: Industrial architectural fragments and collective memories.
    Last chance to see this exclusive exhibition by Aisha Hassan in the Hat House Basement. An Inherited Heritage explores the implications of Luton’s rich industrial heritage on the current built fabric and the local community’s collective memories, aiming to bring to the forefront minor and hidden histories.
     
  • Creative Intervention with Moriam Grillo.
    Moriam Grillo will be inviting participants to respond to a series of provocations centred around the National Theme for BHM; Black Wellness in their own terms.
     
  • On the Wings of a Wirebird
    Your opportunity to catch Lutonian artist Sophie Gresswell's exhibition On the Wings of a Wirebird at The Departure Lounge. This exhibition explores British identity with the aim of connecting us rather than categorising. Sophie presents research into ancestry which spans several countries and continents and invited audiences to participate, sharing stories to evolve the exhibition. 
     
  • Tea Tales - Workshop at The Departure Lounge
    Part of Sophie Gresswell’s project ‘On the Wings of a Wirebird.’ Following the trail from the East India Company to the present Chai walla’s of the British high streets. What’s the real story behind the great British brew? Join Shemiza Rashid and Imrana Mahmood for a free cuppa and chat at Departure Lounge Gallery to explore the tea legacy entwining our shared history from the British Raj to Bury park.
     
  • Food & Drink
    The Hat Factory Cafe & Bar will be open for a selection of hot & cold drinks and snacks throughout the evening. Plus, our friends over at Monsterra Canteen will be open for collection orders until 8pm - head over & try out some of the finest & freshest vegan food Luton has to offer.
