Introduced by Sinfonia Verdi’s Conductor David Murphy and featuring world renowned musicians from the Indian Classical Tradition: “Kalaimamani” Jayaraman Padmanaban and Jayashree Padmanaban this concert will enable both new listeners and aficionados of this thrilling musical genre to experience a glorious range of atmospheres and emotions. New listeners will be expertly guided throughout this musical adventure!

Jayashree Padmanaban
A talented Carnatic vocalist and bharatanayam dancer currently residing and teaching in Luton, UK. She has achieved her Natya Kala Jothi and Sangeetha Kala Jothi from Ofaal – a world renowned organisation for fine arts and the biggest exam board in UK and Europe.
Jayashree works as an examiner for OFAAL and continues to teach fine arts to students all around the world in person and online. She is a performing artiste and has performed in numerous dance and vocal programmes all over India and in UK. She has been recognised for her work with various awards such as “Isai Nyana Geethangal”. She currently works as part of Laya Vidhyalaya UK to teach, perform and conduct workshops for students who learn this art form.
Jayaraman Padmanaban
Kalaimamani” Sri J Padmanaban is an internationally renowned Mridangam artist and teacher hailing from Chennai, India. He learnt how to play Mridangam in a rare and ancient gurukula style under the guidance of “Kodai Idi” Sri S P Govindharajulu. He then studied in TamilNadu Government Music College in Chennai, achieving “VadhyaVisharadha” diploma and continued by becoming a mridangam tutor in bharathanatyam department in the same college.
He has accompanied numerous leading artists and has toured several countries including USA, France, Canada, Malaysia, South Africa, Norway, Germany and Maldives. His excellence and sheer talent was recognised by the Government of Tamil Nadu and was awarded its highest award of “Kalaimamani” in 2006
